This book may really be a life changer and I cannot recall ever writing or feeling that way in all my 62 years. I got this book after experiencing some seriously sad times with my in-laws and I had been watching them both go downhill for the last few years. Within the last few months they both are gone and it was not pretty. This book explains all the health research and even though I had thought that obesity was taking my mother-in-law down, there was even more, with zero interest in cognitive, and continuous over eating and no exercise. I want to be like my aunt who "kept all her buttons" (words of a 93-year old) to the end and from this book I know I can have a shot at it. Genetics is one thing, but lifestyle I can control. I am happy I found this book. I recommend it to anyone who wants to ride out their senior years with the best chances to good health and happiness.

I don't like this book as it is nothing more than a use it or lose it plug. As for all the dietary information, what a confusing mess. I couldn't finish the book, the final straw being countries with higher per capita chocolate consumption produce more Nobel laureates. Good grief, increased ice cream consumption correlates with more swimming deaths (think summer) so lets not conjure up images of bloated swimmers treading water, or chocolate munching egg heads. That was it for me.

Highly recommend this book- very informative! Helpful toward understanding function of brain and importance of nutrition as it relates to brain function. Great for caregivers and for those of us who may be at potential risks of untoward changes in brain due to aging or other unforeseen causes!

I have rated Boost Your Brain 5 stars as I want as many people to consume the information as possible. It is well documented and provides proof of the connection between living a healthy lifestyle and a health brain particularly as we age.

Truly well written and I enjoyed it all. The author did a great job of explaining and presenting his research. Definitely worth the $. Yes, back to exercise and diet but really he says a whole lot more.

Loved this book, and I first bought it for Kindle, then got a hardback to have as reference and be able to underline it. A very qualified author gives tons of great infraction on good eating, good exercise, meditation, and lots of information that explains the workings of the brain. It's technical, but not too much. I have loaned it out to two people and they liked it a lot. I think it is helpful to those of us aging and worrying about losing some of our mental sharpness or a younger person who really wants to work on keeping their brain sharp. I really like the information on hows and whys of several things you have to do to keep your hippocampus from shrinking after age 50. We can actually help it grow a little bit, which helps stave off some dementia. Very usable information, well written, fascinating.

I haven't finished the book yet but I do like it very much. Gives hope and practical exercises for brain function improvement for all ages and how to prevent brain deterioration while traditional medicine has nothing to offer. A very important book in the age of exploding Alzheimer's and other dementias

My mom is reading this book and absolutely loves it. She is worried that her brain is not working as well as it could, and shares some interesting findings. By the way, my mom is 93 years old.
