About the Author
Sandra Walklate is currently Professor of Sociology at Manchester Metropolitan University and has published widely on policing and victim issues. Her other publications include Critical Victimology (with R. Mawby, 1994), Zero Tolerance or Community Tolerance: Managing Crime in High Crime Areas (with K. Evans, 1999) and Gender, Crime and Criminal Justice (2000). She has worked extensively with professionals in the criminal justice system.
